So it seems many brands are jumping on the 50 Shades of Grey bandwagon in light of the new movie coming out, and while I have no desire to see the movie (or read the book) I do love the shades associated with it! It seems we’ve hit a turning point in mainstream polishes, away from “boring” colors to please the masses, instead they are now trying to please the devoted nail polish enthusiasts by releasing duochromes, textured glitters, and this truly beautiful holographic polish! I was lucky enough to not have to hunt to hard for this color (unlike Prosecco), but believe me when I tell you L’oreal Masked Affair is sooo worth the hunt!
Masked Affair is a dusty pale lilac linear holo. This has both large and fine holo particles in it making it sparkle and shine, it almost looks both linear AND scattered! Two coats gives you full, opaque coverage. This has a nice formula, but can be patchy so I recommend waiting for each layer dry before adding a new layer. Also, in my experience adding top coat does dull the flame a bit so for this swatch I did the “holo sandwich”: base coat, holo, top coat, holo.

Price: Retail is around $6.99 at Walgreens, but this has been spotted at CVS, Rite Aid and other drugstores as well.
